THINK PINK:BREAST CANCER AWARENESS


October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Everyone at some time in their life will be or know someone affected by breast cancer. Wither it was a mother, sister, aunt, grand-mother, wife, friend, etc. Breast cancer is considered one of the leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Did you know that 1 in 4 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in there life time. Those risks double if women have a family history of breast cancer. Gene mutation has been linked to breast cancer, when an inherited trait from the mother or father. Some women develop breast cancer from genetic admoralities over time later in their life. Over all just being a woman and getting older is a major fact of breast cancer. There are many way to help prevent, inform and support the fight against breast cancer. Performing self breast exam, getting annual exams and talking with your doctor. Using different information resources (books, web, health centers, etc) will keep you informed about the battle against breast cancer. You can support and donate to various local, well as national breast cancer charities through several web pages, community outreach centers, purchasing products in your local stores where the proceeds go towards breast cancer research or joining in on breast cancer 5k walkathons and other local projects. With so many ways to inform, prevent, and support breast cancer think pink, educate yourself and support the fight against breast cancer.
